Interfaith Dialogue

Our interfaith Dialogue meetings between Muslims and Christians are in their 29th year and have been taking place in Minnesota since 1989!It takes place every third Sunday from 2:00-4:00 p.m. (excluding summer months) at the Islamic Center of Minnesota, 1401 Gardena Avenue NE, Fridley 55432, Room 208. These dialogues are one of the many ways that we connect with the greater community.

The group has two co-chairs, the Christian co-chair is Mr. Bon Clayton while the Muslim Co-Chair is Dr. Saoudy Ahmed Saoudy. The group decides on a topic for the following month, then presenters from both sides are suggested. On the day of the meeting, we begin with 15-minute presentations of the topic by the chosen speakers, followed by 90 minutes of fruitful discussion, where everybody is welcomed and encouraged to say their comments and/or questions

Doors are open for all, irrespective of religion, the more the merrier. Since the beginning of 2018, the following topics have been addressed

  • January: The Purpose of life in Islam and Christianity
  • February: Salvation in Islam and Christianity
  • March: Rules of marriage in Islam and Christianity
  • April: Crucifixion in Islam and Christianity
  • May: Fasting in Islam and Christianity
